Corby Model Boat Club meets most Sundays and Thursdays at around 10:00am at the Corby Boating Lake. We always welcome new members so if you are interested in joining please come along. We
sail all types of water craft.
Directions to location: The lake is just off the A427 Westcott Way/Cottingham Road junction, within easy walking distance from the town centre. Originally a lake for rowing boats but is now used for model boating and fishing only. Model boats have their own section of the 2 acre lake.
The club pays Corby council an annual fee for the use of part of the lake for two days of the week so if you would like to join a small fee is required. The fee also gives you public liability cover.
Shoreline access is limited to two concrete jetties.
Other facilities provided at the lake include toilets & cafe. The cafe is open all year except Christmas and serves great food, lakeside parking, disabled access and facilities, overflow car parks.
Sailing on club days by arrangement - guests welcome.
Sailing takes place every Sunday and Thursday, you must either be a member of Corby & District MBC, or have the permission of a club officer to sail.
If you are a guest you must have a valid Public Liability Insurance Certificate. Currently we allow, sailing yachts, fast electric, I.C. and scale. If you have your own insurance steam is allowed.
